Lead pricing and technical design work for FIAs and RILAs distributed through insurance carriers and Independent Marketing Organizations (IMOs). This senior, client-facing consulting role partners directly with carrier and IMO stakeholders to design, price, and refine products with deep technical and actuarial rigor.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and price FIA and RILA products, including fixed indexed and structured/annuity-style crediting strategies, for carrier and IMO clients.
  • Build and maintain actuarial pricing models to evaluate product profitability, competitiveness, and risk under varying market and crediting scenarios.
  • Serve as a technical consultant to carrier and IMO stakeholders, translating pricing and actuarial analysis into clear recommendations.
  • Develop and refine index-linked crediting strategies, including volatility-control and other structured indexes.
  • Partner with carriers on new product filings, illustration logic, and compliance requirements tied to pricing assumptions.
  • Collaborate with distribution, marketing, and index-provider teams to bring new products and crediting strategies to market.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor product design, and regulatory developments affecting pricing.
  • Present pricing analysis, product recommendations, and technical findings to carrier and IMO leadership.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • 7–10+ years of experience in insurance product development and/or actuarial pricing, with a focus on FIA and/or RILA products.
  • Direct experience working with insurance carriers and/or Independent Marketing Organizations (IMOs).
  • Strong quantitative and analytical background, with demonstrated experience building and validating pricing models.
  • Working knowledge of crediting strategies and index-linked product design (fixed indexed annuities, structured products, or similar).
  • Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, or a related quantitative field.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate technical pricing work for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Consulting mindset: comfortable managing multiple client relationships and competing priorities.

Technical Skills & Tools

  • Proficiency with actuarial pricing and modeling software (e.g., AXIS, Prophet, MG-ALFA, or comparable platforms).
  • Advanced Excel and VBA skills for pricing analysis, sensitivity testing, and model automation.
  • Familiarity with crediting strategy mechanics and index construction (volatility-control indexes, intraday index valuation, and similar structures).
  • Comfort working with carrier illustration systems and IMO distribution/administration platforms.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience designing or supporting FIA and RILA pricing, volatility-control indexes, or other structured/principal-protected crediting strategies.
  • Established relationships or working experience within the IMO distribution channel.
  • Experience supporting product launches from concept through carrier filing and market release.
